What is your current job title?
I am a sports lecturer
What inspired you to work within education?
I was inspired to work in education as I realised that I have the ability to break down information into smaller digestive pieces that everyone can understand. This is very important to me as I am a big believer that everyone should have access to education.
Name a challenge in your career journey you didn’t expect?
I would say a challenge in my career journey is learning how to be just as effective as a teacher online during the lockdown. As I have always taken pride in being able to keep the students engaged. However, online learning initially came as a major challenge, as I had to investigate methods that I can use within my lessons. Honestly,
What is the best part of your job?
Being able to react with the kids and see them achieve their potential and more. The moments when they really grasp what I being spoken about in the lesson and their ability to explain it within their work.
What does being a working woman mean to you?
It means that I am able to bring my feminity to the role, my strength in being able to go after what it is I want and achieve those goals.
What is the one piece of advice you would give to other women at the start of their career journeys?
I would say my advice is to go after what you feel in your heart, even if the industry is male-dominated, you don't have to change but can bring your own feminine energy to the role. You can have it all whether that's working and still having a family.
